Position: Relief Senior Financial Accountant
Place of Work: Head Office

About the Organization:
VisionFund Micro Finance Institution (S.C) is an Institution established according to proclamation No. 40/96 to provide financial services to the productive poor in the rural and urban areas of Ethiopia. VisionFund is currently operating in four of the Regional States of the country.
VisionFund MFI is currently looking for candidates for the position of Relief Senior Financial Accountant. The successful candidates will have skills and experience that meet the following requirements:
1. Major Responsibilities
· Ensure settlements with External parties
· Ensure timely delivery of the Head Office(HO) transaction passed on the behave of branches
· Ensure the reconciliation of fixed asset at HO with the record
· Follow up all project expenses and ensure the proper allocation of costs as the plan
· Assist the account manager in the coordination of the area senior financials accountant during external audit event
· Play active role with the guidance of the accounts manager in handling the external audit of the HO
· Ensure and monitor the day to day progress of GI and collect necessary information such as operation dates
· Work closely with the area financial accountants and ensure proper management of the written off loan data and consolidate progress up dates and reports
· Check documents with regard to clearance of staff resigned or terminated sent from Senior Financial Accountants(SFA and prepare the necessary payments
· Replace Senior Financial Accountants(SFA) who are based at the area as needed during leaves, and any emergency cases
· Ensure suspense account clearance (Account payable and receivable) and SA (Settlement advice) follow up and timely settlement of receivables from and payable to WVE NO,VFI and other WV offices.
· To follow up and collect financial statement and reports from SFA periodically and consolidate as per schedules
· Communicate information and liaise with area SFAs
· Conduct regular financial analysis of the HO and provide the necessary advice
· Provide solution and support for transaction recording, report generation and any other issues of the financial system of HO
Ensure the maintenance of an updated and well kept accounting books and records
· To follow up and collect financial statement and reports from assigned area office and branches periodically as per schedules
· Check and verify submitted statement and reports
· Communicate information and liaise with area offices branches
· Facilitate and assist timely preparation and production of statement and repots in assigned area office and branches
· Conduct regular financial analysis on branch and area base and provide the necessary advice
· Provide solution and support for transaction recording, report generation and any other issues of the financial system to branches
· support and provide oversight to the other financial accounting staff at head office and branch level
· Reviews the work of the Head Office Financial accountant
· Provide support and supervise the performance of the financial accountant of the HO
Ensure and assists in the preparation of documents for both internal and external
· Provides assistance in any audit or examination to be conducted by the external auditor, government, agencies as well as other parties dully authorized by the Board of directors or the CEO to conduct such activity maintain sufficient controls systems
· Keeps a systematic monitoring of all the HO equipment &monitor its movements and reviews its condition as compared to its book value
· Ensure timely and accurate monthly bank reconciliation and prompt action taken on reconciling items
· Works with the treasurer to ensure adequate control of cash and other assets according to laid down polices in branches he/she is assigned to.
Reporting
· Promptly produce regular financial and other reports on monthly, quarterly, yearly and as needed
· Undertake financial analysis at HO level and produce report with appropriate recommendations
· Produces for reviews monthly income, balance sheet and cash flow statement of HO operations
Job Requirements
Qualifications: Knowledge and Technical Skills:
The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:
· Bachelor degree or diploma in accounting is required
· Chartered accountant is an added advantage.
· 6 years of experience for bachelor degree.
· Determined personality with initiative, perseverance and the ability to motivate and manage a team
· Capability and willingness to take responsibility and highly developed sense of integrity
· Ready to comply and live up to and in accordance with the organization Ideals and Core Values
· Be proficient in Microsoft office, Sun systems and excellent use of Excel spreadsheets
· Highly developed sense of reliability and accuracy
· Be a good trainer, facilitator, mentor, and coach
· Very good communication skills
