BRIDGE (Building Rural Income through inclusive Dairy business Growth in Ethiopia) is a five year project, started on 15 September 2018 and ending at 31 December 2023. It is implemented by a consortium of SNV Ethiopia and WUR and fully funded by the Embassy of Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ethiopia. The project is implemented in partnership with the respective regions BoFED, Livestock & Fisheries Resources Development Bureaus, Cooperative Promotion Agencies and other relevant sector offices. The project builds on the experience of EDGET (SNV) and DairyBISS (WUR) projects implemented from 2013-2018.

Consultancy Objective

The overall objective of the assignment is for the recruitment of a temporary Research Coordinator on a consultancy basis to manage the Action Research, studying the impact of the pilot for seed distribution by the BRIDGE project. Effects to be assessed are mainly on the establishment of a forage seed market in Ethiopia and improved fodder availability and utilisation on the participating dairy farms.

Job Requirements

1. At least Masters Degree from a recognized university;
2. Proven experience in implementing at least two different researches independently.
3. At least 3 years experience in research.
4. Ability to lead research team.
5. Excellent record in publishing research reports

Both the technical and financial proposals should be in a separate sealed and stamped envelope by writing the name of the specific assignment.

2% withholding tax will be deducted from the consultant fees at the source and will be paid by SNV – Ethiopia, assuming a TIN number and license can be provided, otherwise 30% withholding tax will be deducted.
