Ethiopian Center for Disability and Development (ECDD) is an Ethiopian Development Organization established in 2005 and reregistered at Agency for Civil Society Organizations as Ethiopian Development Organization with Certificate no. 0321 under the Proc. No. 1113/2019. ECDD is working with other organizations to promote and facilitate the inclusion of persons with disabilities and disability issues in mainstream service delivery and development programs envisioning an Inclusive Ethiopia where persons with disabilities exercise the same rights and have access to the same services and opportunities enjoyed by other citizens.

ECDD is implementing a project called “Every Life Matters” focusing on  promotion of disability inclusive practices in sexual & reproductive health and eye care.  Currently, the program partners with 4 health care institutions (3 health centers and one referral hospital for inclusive eye care) in Ethiopia, at Debre Markos, Arbaminch and W/Sodo. The main objective of the program is to design, test and adapt disability-inclusive interventions in healthcare system (with specific focus on SRH and eye care), stimulate collaboration between health care providers, organizations of persons with disabilitiesand specialized institutions working in the area of health.

Under this project, ECDD has planned to modify Debre Markos referral hospital and Woseta Health Centre located at Debre Markos town to make physically accessible for Adolescents and Youth with disabilities.

Therefore, ECDD is now seeking a consultancy firm/individual to carry out the architectural design, prepare a bill of quantities and specification, and to supervise the modifications at these stated health institutes.

Carryout the architectural design of the stated hospital and health center which involves the building of ramps along with hand  rails, modification of the center’s toilet, patient journey directions(signage) and pathways accessible). The design will include service wards such as maternity ward, card room, emergency ward, outpatient wards, inpatient ward, eye treatment ward, pharmacy, laboratory and other health service wards and the ways in between the wards.

·          Detail specifications and bill of quantities  for each ward and building including the toilets in the wards.

·         Design with  detail drawing of the work along with the specific dimensions and prices.

·          Sanitary design (it may involve the removal and /or  addition of accessible toilet (seat able WC) with Turkish WC.

·         Supervise the inception, 25%, 50% and 100% of the work while the winning contractor builds the modifications as per the design and  price offered. And  writes a progress construction report while visiting the accessibility construction on every stage.

·         Approve and write a report to ECDD on the completion of the construction by winning contractor.

·         Submit the price and design of service Ward independently
