LonAdd HR Consultancy Plc (www.lonadd.com) is a Recruitment & Outsourcing Company based in Addis Abeba, Ethiopia, with branch offices in Dukem and Hawassa.

Job Purpose

The Business Development Manager is responsible for making sure market analyses on both product /service lines and the overall profitability of the business is conducted; monitors the development of data quality metrics and ensures business data and reporting needs are met.

Makes sure proper assistance is provided on the implementation and support of business information systems across the business.

The candidate is also responsible for ensuring identification of problems and opportunities within the organization and ultimately provides solutions that help achieve the business' goals.

Take part to sales strategy and operational action plans defined within sales, prospect and detect new business, commit to sales goals and results on all business priorities, build a sales reporting and monitor business with an accurate vision in the short and midterm. Manage business development and team organization in order to develop corporate sales turnover and customer loyalty.

The  Business development manager is also responsible for acquiring and maintaining the key client accounts; determining how best to service and motivate key accounts to stay with the business through  having depth understanding of competing products/services, discount and pricing structures, and overall strengths and weaknesses of the Company; leading client account planning cycle and ensures that client’s needs and expectations are met by the business; representing the entire range of company solutions to the assigned customers.

Accountabilities

  • Acquires a thorough understanding of key customer needs and requirements;
  • Proposes solutions that meet customer needs and expectation through maintaining customer relationship;
  • Ensures the correct products and services are delivered to corporate customers in a timely manner;
  • Serves as the link of communication between key customers and internal teams;
  • Resolves any issues and problems faced by key customers and deal with complaints to maintain trust;
  • Makes sure detailed business analysis is conducted through using internal data and external data when necessary;
  • Tracks and records reasons for customer complaints to ensure further customer service enhancements and avoid customer complaints;
  • Plays an integral part in generating new sales that will turn into long-lasting relationships;
  • Assists in the identification and evaluation of new business opportunities, and attainment of attainment of new accounts for the business;
  • Prepares regular reports of progress and forecasts to internal and external stakeholders using key account metrics;
  • In collaboration with the customer support functions and other sales departments, as complementary cross-functional efforts, works to meet account performance objectives and the key accounts’ expectations;
  • Coaches and mentors employees under direct supervision towards effective career development;
  • Sets goals, objectives, and performance standards and signs an agreement with performers;
  • Evaluates the periodic performance of his/her subordinates;
  • Reviews and submit functional reports to relevant organs;
  • Tracks and records reasons for customer complaints to ensure further customer service enhancements and avoid customer complaints;
  • Makes sure detailed business analysis is conducted  through using internal data and external data when necessary ;
  • Outlines  problems, opportunities and solutions for the business and senior business stakeholders;
  • Makes sure all the necessary assistance and support is provided  in forecasting, planning and monitoring of business metrics;
  • Ensures the delivery of  financial modeling of both business areas as well as product areas when required;
  • Makes sure  analytical works is conducted for supporting business decision, and personally involved in performing  varies  analysis when required by senior management;
  • Makes sure pricing support and proposals to the business to drive profitability and better product options are  offered on time and with expected quality;
  • Performs such other related duties as may be assigned by immediate supervisor.

Job Requirements

Key Skills/Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in management, sales, marketing or business administration or equivalent number of years of experience.
  • Seven to Ten (7-10) years of related experience with progressive management experience.

  • Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
