The Association of Ethiopian Microfinance Institutions (AEMFI) is one of the most developed microfinance networks in Africa with more than 35 member microfinance institutions (MFIs) operating in Ethiopia. Since its establishment in 1999, AEMFI has been providing several capacity building activities to its member microfinance institutions. Currently, AEMFI’s MIS department is managing the implementation of the Shared Management Information System project in more than 25 of its member microfinance institutions, which are located across different regional states of the country, with a total of more than 350 branches. The project aims to automate the current manual information management systems of the MFIS by implementing a common core banking software (CBS) using a centralized shared infrastructure. The deployment of the core banking software is expected to improve the financial service delivery of the MFIs and hence improve their operational efficiency to serve their clients, prepare reports, and reduce fraudulent activities that occur in manual systems. In relation with this exciting project, AEMFI is now interested to recruit qualified and interested experts in the following positions.

Job Summary

The Business Process Analyst contributes to supporting project teams of MFIs properly analyse their requirements to properly parameterize their system based on their operational and financial procedures; carefully conducting a user acceptance testing (UAT) and provide post implementation support to MFI teams by liaising with the software vendor. Additional duties include supporting the MFI project teams to prepare their data using the data cleaning templates and following up the data migration process. Furthermore, the business process analyst is responsible for training participating MFI teams on front office as well as some back-office operations related to the core banking software. Key Duties and Responsibilities

  •  Analyse business requirements of MFIs to properly map requirements to the core banking software during implementation phases and post implementation
  •  Engage with technical team to test new requirements of MFIs on the core banking software
  •  Support MFI teams during the parameterization of the core banking software in collaboration with the software vendor team
  • Follow up with MFI teams during data cleaning and migration
  • Deliver Training of Trainers and end user trainings to MFI staffs
  • Prepare necessary documentations for parameterization, data cleaning, UAT and other stages of project phases
  • Facilitate second level and third level support to MFIs in collaboration with project team members and software vendor team

Employment Type: contract for 6 months, with a possibility of extension

Job Requirements

Education

  • BA in Accounting & Finance, Business Management, Management Information Systems (MIS) or related fields
  •  Cumulative GPA 3.0 and above Experience
  •  0-2 years of experiences in similar IT project positions, preferably in similar projects in banks, microfinance and/or other financial institutions

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability
  •  Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
  • Strong communication skills
  •  Ability to set priorities, multi-task with minimal supervision and attention to details
  • Confident, motivated, self-starter with the ability to work independently, rigorous and responsible
  • Proficiency in computer applications; Windows and basic Microsoft packages
