MSI is pursuing a five-year Organizational Development Project with the USAID Mission in Ethiopia for organizational development services, including the design and facilitation of both Mission-wide and team-centric events and activities; data collection and analysis of leadership values, behaviors and goals; and individual, team and executive coaching services. The objective of this activity is to advance USAID/Ethiopia’s continued support of the Mission’s Organizational Objectives, one of which is to create a Mission of Leaders. Under this activity, in addition to organizational development services, other services needed will include: leadership and staff development; change management in multi-cultural and/or international organizations; and strategic use of the Insights Discovery® Model.

Position Summary:

The Chief of Party (COP) will be responsible for overseeing the project both from a technical and operational perspective. S/he will ensure that all demands of the contract are met, on time, within budget and with high quality. This position will oversee project staff and liaise with MSI’s home office staff regularly. This position will be full time and based in Addis Ababa.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contract with USAID/Ethiopia on a day-to-day basis for contract implementation and management.
  • Provide the vision for and oversee the quality of activities implemented under this project.
  • Ensure compliance with USAID rules and regulations and MSI procedures and policies.
  • Manage project staff and provide training and mentoring as needed to build capacity of the team.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in organizational development, adult learning or a related field.
  • At least eight years of experience providing organizational development and/or coaching services, facilitating high-level events/training and/or analyzing leadership values, preferably at a senior or managerial level.
  • Previous work experience with USAID or other donors.
  • Experience working in Ethiopia and knowledge of Amharic preferred.
  • Superior communication skills, both written and oral, in English is required.
