As a COO at the SMART, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations and the work of junior executives as well as reporting directly to the D/CEO. Your duty will also include devising different strategies to promote the growth of SMART and its portfolio companies including creating and maintaining relationships with partners and vendors. You will also work alongside other chief directors in the different sectors.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Analyze internal operations and identify areas of process enhancement
  • Develop actionable business strategies and plans that ensure alignment with short-term and long-term objectives developed in tandem with the D/CEO
  • Directly oversee Operations, HR, and accounting to achieve growth targets over the near term
  • Strategically manage investments and expenses to ensure the company its growth and profit target
  • Monitor performance and prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly reports detailing needed improvements as well as solutions
  • Maintain and build trusted relationships with managing directors,  key customers, clients, partners, and stakeholders
  • Collaborate with the D/CEO in setting and driving organizational vision, operational strategy, and hiring needs
  • Oversee company operations and employee productivity, building a highly inclusive culture ensuring team members thrive and organizational outcomes are met
  • Ensure effective recruiting, on boarding, professional development, performance management, and retention


Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in Business fields with at least 6 years of experience 3 of which should be managerial positions  OR  Applicants are holders of advanced degrees (MA, MBA, etc…) with at least 4 years of experience 2 of which should be managerial positions.

Additional requirements

  •  Adequate knowledge of different functions such as Business Development, HR, finance and marketing
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills as well as communication and presentation skills
  •  Proficient in written and spoken English
  • Experience cooperating and effectively communicating with other collaborators (companies, NGOs etc…)
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft office)
