Description

CEFA is looking for motivated Child Protection coordinator. who will under the supervision of Project Manager, she/he will carry out the implementation of protection activities in each Woreda, in particular of the activities related to the support and psycho-social assistance of families, women and children most at risk of malnutrition.

1.       Project implementation and coordination

·         Develop detailed implementation plans (monthly, quarterly and annual) for the all
projects activity.

·         Coordinate implementation of projects to ensure quality and timely
delivery of project outputs.

·         Ensure that child protection activities are integrated with agriculture activities in all the project implementation areas

·         Actively engage in responses planned and implemented for vulnerable families, women and children in all the project implementation area

·         Facilitate and organize trainings, workshops, campaigns and other events pertaining to child protection and gender-based violence

·         Regular interaction with woreda & zone focal person as well as with project beneficiary

·         Prepare ToRs for trainings, workshops and other events and submit to project manager for approval based on the budget line and financial procedure of the organization

·         Coordinate all project activities of closely with Project Manager

2.       Reporting

·         Compile all reports shared by child protection field officers and share to project manager regularly

·         Produce periodic and progress reports

·         Participate in a weekly review of the progress of activities

·         Assist the PM by collect and analyses report feedbacks obtained from implementing partners and stakeholders

·         Support the project manager on collecting and compiling data, compiling reports

·         Produce narrative and financial report for child protection activities in with the support of project accountant and PM.

3.       Human resources management

·         Provide technical support to Child Protection Field Officers in Woliso, Goro, Seden Sodo and Amaya woreda

·         Ensure that all Child Protection Field officers are based in their locations and implementing their roles and responsibilities in their respective woredas

·         Ensure that all child protection field officers prepare action plan and monitor that the action plan is implemented accordingly. 

4.       Capacity Building

·             Enhance capacity of child protection field officers, by identify their technical gaps and provide on-job trainings

·            Design and develop training package, module on child protection and gender-based violence

·            Organize workshops for the project beneficiaries

·            Facilitate training sessions for selected target groups and understanding of beneficiaries' training needs

5.       Monitoring and evaluation

·         Monitor implementation and evaluate progress of the child protection activities to ensure quality and timely delivery of the project outputs

·         Share best practices and lessons learnt with consortium partners

·         Organize coordination meeting and project monitoring mission by government officials at zonal level in coordination with Agricultural Coordinator.

·         Maintain proper filing systems of all project documents, reports and other relevant technical documents in both hard copy and soft copy

·         Any other activity necessary for carrying out the project activities as indicated by the project manager

Job Requirements

·         Degree in Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, and other relevant fields

·         5 years working experience of which at least 3 years in project coordination and supervising staffs

·         Good knowledge and understanding about child and vulnerable adult safeguarding

·         Understanding and commitment to child protection standards and frameworks

·         Excellent organizational skills, with ability to determine priorities and pay attention to detail

·         Ability to work in multicultural context as a flexible and respectful team player

·         Fluency in written and spoken English and excellent communication in Oromiffa

·         Immediate availability is a strong asset
