Purpose of the position:

To ensure that the IMAM/CMAM program is functioning properly, providing care of quality to all the beneficiaries, respecting protocols and principles of good practice. The position holder will support Government staff and WV nutrition team for the smooth and accurate running of the IMAM/CMAM program through planning, capacity building and supervision follows as per the national CMAM protocol. He/she Will ensure that the CMAM program is functioning properly, providing care of quality to all the beneficiaries, respecting protocols and principles of good practice.

 

Major Responsibilities:

·

·         Coordinate all IMAM and CMAM trainings that will be planned for health workers and health extension workers.
·         Provide technical support to World Vision IMAM/CMAM programme activities in Melka Belo and Jarso to ensure that the IMAM/CMAM programmes take place according to the project plans and is implemented with high quality.
·         Coordinate and lead OCHA supported and World Vision Korea supported two emergency nutrition projects implementation in agreement with OCHA and WV Korea standards and the new updated CMAM protocols. Provide on the site technical support for stabilization centers, outpatient therapeutic program sites, IYCF_E, TSFP (food distribution), and mobilization of community
·         Make sure that nutrition program is implemented according to the protocol i.e. application of admission, discharge criteria, anthropometry measurement must by strictly followed, and that to be closely monitored by the project offices and government staffs.
·         Follow up timely request, approval, procurement and distribution of the project logistics, supply and equipments
·         Follow up utilization of project commodities, logistics and equipment
·         Review and submit regular monthly reports or monthly CMAM database report (using CMAM Offline data base) to AP Manager and Head Office Emergency Nutrition Specialist
·         Take part in the project set-up, technical support visit, monitoring visits, surveys and evaluations
·         Follow up project progress as per the plan of work closely with the APs and identify minimum support package as part of the project transition
·         Take part in CMAM project meetings, workshops,  that will assist for technical and spiritual development
·         Perform other duties as assigned by the nutrition program coordinator

Job Requirements

Qualifications:  Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience

The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:

  1. BSc degree in Public Health/ Clinical Nursing/Nutrition and related health field of study
  1. Minimum five years working experience with NGOs in CMAM program;

 

Other Competencies/Attributes:

  1. Project management experience in CMAM programming.
  2. Experience in conducting nutrition assessments and an understanding of nutritional surveillance and information systems;
  3. Willingness and capacity to be flexible and accommodating when faced with difficult and frustrating working conditions;
  1. Strong adherence to World Vision values;
  2. Strong character traits, including emotional stability, adaptability, ability to handle stress, cultural and gender sensitivity and integrity;
  3. Proven experience of managing donor(s) funded projects or programs;
  4. Excellent track record of donor networking and liaison.
  1. Appropriate skills and experience in the capacity building and training of staff and partners;
  2. Experience in monitoring and evaluation
  3. Excellent experience in proposal development, budget preparation and report writing;
  4. Prepared to live and work in an remote and uncertain security environment
  5. Fluent in oral and written English and Local Language.

 

Working Environment / Conditions:

  • The position requires ability and willingness to travel to health facilities

    and kebeles up to 80 % of the time.
