Job Overview:

Community Wellbeing Initiative and Child Protection Manager (CWI and CP Manager) is responsible to provide technical and operational support to the emergency program activities for gender-based violence and child protection response in Oromia region. She/he will demonstrate technical capability and support the program team to ensure the program is holistic, upholding according to standards, procedures, and principles of safeguarding and will be responsible to enhance the coordination of basic services and ensure accessibility of services such as SHLS, case management. The CWI and CP Manager directly reports to the Senior Field Manager in Adama and indirectly to the CWI and CYPD technical team. The position holder will also be responsible to mentor and supervisee the team under the department.

Job Requirements

  • MA/BA Degree in Psychology, Social Science & Humanities, or other related Social Science field.
  • 4/5 years of professional work experience for MA and BA Degree holders, respectively.
  • At least 1 year of management experience is required.
  • NGO experience is a plus.

Proven Skills and Proficiency:

  • Previous experience in project and grant management in emergency context is preferred!
  • Demonstrated experience in capacity building and mentoring, psychosocial support and counseling experience and training.
  • Thorough understanding of women and children wellbeing and safety theory and practice.
  • Proven experience in developing competency-based training modules.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and facilitation skills.
  • Proven experience in writing skills, including donor reporting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills and flexibility.
  • Excellent computer skills: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and verbal language skills in English and Amharic. Afaan Oromo language is plus.
