Role overview

This role will assume the technical leadership of the continental volunteer platform and establishes good professional relations with all the partners of the coordination mechanism to promote responsible and impactful integration of volunteers into peace and development programs in Africa by working in partnership with Regional Economic Communities, Member States and volunteer Involving Organizations, the private sector, NGOs and CSOs.

Skills, qualifications and experience

Experience:
Minimum 7 years in management of development projects, management capacity and organizational development and/or volunteer program management
Knowledge on African continent’s socio-economic situation, cultural dimensions, and political structure.
Excellent stakeholder mobilization and networking skills.
Knowledge of the AUC system is an advantage.
Excellent written and spoken English.
Project management and Business Analytics Skills
Ability to identify problems at an early stage and solve them effectively
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills,
Strong in advocacy, negotiation, networking, presentation, team-building and human resource management
High degree of personal initiative
Ability to work well in a multicultural team
Capacity to co-ordinate different activities in parallel and work under pressure
High level of computer skills (Windows, Excel, Power Point, Word, Outlook, Internet).

Desirable Criteria:
Experience working with international and Government Organizations
