Description

The national coordinator for human rights and advocacy will work as part of a team in the Together for Inclusion (TOFI) consortium, and in close collaboration with the Norwegian Association of the Blind and Partially Sighted (NABP). TOFI is a multi-stakeholder effort working for equal rights and opportunities for persons with disabilities in six African countries, including Ethiopia.

The program is going to be done with well known international and local partners.

Activities Required:-

  • Responsibility to identify beneficiaries of all disabilities to participate as beneficiaries of the EE programme,
  • Monitor and follow-up of beneficiaries in the EE programme,
  • Support organizational capacity building in ENAB on EE programming and document learning and methods from TOFI, NGO and DPO partners
  • Support development and participating in EE network activity.
  • Identifying areas where persons with disabilities could potentially engage to ensure their employability
  • Collaboration with TOFI partners in Ethiopia (including actively participating in Economic Empowerment (EE) Technical Working group)
  • Identifying areas where persons with disabilities could potentially engage to ensure their employability
  • Collaboration and communication with TOFI programme manager in NABP in the development and reporting on implementation of EE programme in Ethiopia
  • Compiling and analyzing policies, laws and manuals on employment rights of persons with disabilities
  • Identifying the gaps in the implementation of employment laws for persons with disabilities
  • Organizing and supporting persons with disabilities to engage in self-employment activities

Job Requirements

Required educational and work experience

  • Minimum of bachelor degree
  • Graduating in economics, management, Social work, sociology, business administration, business management, or law
  • At least 4 years of experience for master degree holders and 6 years of experience for bachelor degree holders in the fields related to those mentioned educational backgrounds
  • Informed in disability related concepts
  • Good skills in communications, technologies etc.
  • Good English language skills is required
  • Experience in project management, planning and program design
  • Those who have NGO experience are encouraged.
  • Those with work experience on disability are encouraged.
  • Experience in developing and conducting trainings, campaigns and community work
  • Co-operates well with others; shares knowledge, experience and information; supports others in the pursuit of team goals
  • Builds a useful network of contacts and relationships and utilizes in to achieve objectives
