DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the supervision of and reporting to the Project Coordinator the Emergence Officer will be in charge of project activities that include identification and supporting of smallholder farmers affected by the impacts of the COVID 19 global pandemic. In collaboration with Zonal and Woreda partners carry out assessment to find out alternative ways that could strengthen the effectiveness of agriculture livelihood based COVID-19 emergency intervention in the project area. In collaboration with the Project Emergency Coordinator develop and regularly update the project implementation plan (PIP) on monthly, quarterly and semiannual bases to effectively carry out the emergency response interventions to achieve the intended project goals. Ensures the participation of community, particularly women in beneficiary selection and timely provision of project inputs. Lead the establishment of COVID-19 prevention groups, early warning and response committees. In collaboration with project implementing partners carry out community sensitization and awareness regarding COVID-19 and its effect on agriculture and livelihoods. Regularly monitor the project interventions, compile data segregated by sex and age composition of targeted households and their family members,
JOB REQUIREMENT
Qualification and Experience: M Sc or BSc degree with qualification in fields of Agriculture, Livelihoods, Nutrition and related field from recognized University with at least 3 and 5 years of work experience respectively. NGO experience is an advantage especially in Emergency Response Programs.
Additional Requirements
- Competency in computer applications of MS Offices package is required.
- Understanding and speaking local language (Amharic) is mandatory.
- Cooperative, team player, gender considerate and excellent in interpersonal relationships.
- Have strong commitment and openness to learn and share.
