KEY RESPONSABILITIES

Ensures that all project health activities and delivery of Mobile health care services to the IDP communities in the project location. Collaborate with all important stakeholders including woreda health offices, zonal health departments, PHCUs and health posts.  Expert in Public Health and Emergency is directly responsible for technical and organizational support within healthcare facilities around the IDP settings and the mobile health and nutrition team. project healthcare staff, oversight of results, and participation in monitoring and evaluation of project strategy.

 Responsibilities/duties:

  • (S)he Develop and manage comprehensive activity plan according to the project document and gaps identified
  • (S)he Lead in the creation of 8 mobile clinics (two for each of the woreda that host formal IDPs camps) for the provision of basic health services and screening for acute malnutrition
  • (S)he Develop and manage comprehensive activity plan according to the project document and gaps identified
  • (S)he He/she will create  Mobile clinic teams in each woreda in close collaboration with the health offices
  • Support to the epidemiological surveillance system and prevention of epidemics and health emergencies in the project location
  • (S)he organizes and facilitates the realization of the training activities listed within the project to health workers, IDP representatives...on  health and hygiene prevention and community health promotion: investigates the training needs; identifies the appropriate trainer; Identifies suitable training methods and ensures their implementation; Evaluates the effectiveness of the training
  • (S)he Lead and Involve in the process of  NFI request, procurement and distribution process for vulnerable families residing in the informal camps of internally displaced persons
  • (S)he Participate in the awareness raising and community mobilization activities on issues concerning the prevention of violence, child protection and promotion of inclusion
  • (S)he Collaborates with local authorities and social and healthcare practitioners of the HC to develop a shared monthly    monitoring program within the healthcare structures where the project being implemented
  • (S)he Collaborates with local authorities for the identification and / or development of a supervisory card and appropriate data collection tools for health services supported by the project
  • (S)he regularly collects  

No. of positions: Two (one for Oromia and One for Somali region)

Job Requirements

Skills Knowledge Education and Experience

  • Degree in Public health, Nursing or other healthcare related positions
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in start-up and / or supervision of health services, managing mobile clinic in IDP settings and health Surveillance
  • Professional experiences of healthcare trainer in the project areas
  • Excellent communicative, negotiating, team building and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and keen to reach objectives
  • Availability to work under pressure and beyond working time, if required
  • Good knowledge on Microsoft package
  • Knowledge of local language is required ; Good level of English is essential
