The Federal Systems Technology department of the USFGMD is responsible for service supporting a charter of implementing and integrating complex systems sold worldwide to the US Federal Government. As a USFGMD Systems Technologist, you will be exposed to a wide variety of communications requirements in both the Presale and Post Sale phases of a project. These applications span the entire breadth of the US Federal Government throughout the world. Job Description Navy ELMR is geographically the largest, most complex ASTRO system in the world. The San Diego Zone Core FST will be responsible for the day to day activities of managing the M-Core Master Site for a multi-zone DSR system. That includes but is not limited to routine system checks, alarm monitoring, case management, system backups, patching support, engineering support, inter-zone support, DC (domain controller) maintenance, RF site troubleshooting, network troubleshooting, dispatch site troubleshooting, documentation, and system wide team collaboration. The Navy ELMR San Diego Master Site FST must be capable of providing onsite support as needed at one of the many RF sites in the region or within the 911 Regional Dispatch Center. The FST will work closely with engineering and the NAVY SUA team to support system upgrades and Engineering Change Requests as necessary. Qualifications: Required to complete standard form 86 questionnaire for national security positions. Extensive verbal and written communication within the NAVY ELMR team. Assist the other team FSTs in system troubleshooting and routine maintenance. Strong organization skills and a high attention to detail. Demonstrated experience working in IT production environments. Demonstrated ability to balance multiple concurrent responsibilities of varying priorities and shift focus from one to another with minimal loss of productivity or work quality. Some travel of up to 25% annually may be required. Applicant must be proficient with Microsoft Office products and G-Suite applications. Provide on-site and remote troubleshooting on the Navy ELMR system. Must have strong self-management skills and "people" skills to work closely with Motorola Solutions’ customers and subcontractor (MSS) community, as well as Motorola Solutions sales, engineering, project management, and customer service teams. 2+ years in IT, networking, technician, field service, system technician/specialist, radio frequency or land mobile radio. Must report in daily 5 days a week to the Zone Core site on Coronado island so the candidate must live within one hour of the office location. Desired Qualifications: Comp TIA Network+, MCSE, and CISSP certifications. Four-year degree in an Information Technology (IT) or Engineering field preferred. Experience with Host Based Security Systems (HBSS) Experience with CAC/PIV authentication based systems. Working knowledge of Radio Frequency (RF) theory.
