Professional Alliance for Development (PADet) is an Ethiopian civil society organization which runs various developmental programs at community level in Ethiopia focusing on Reproductive health, HIV/AIDS, Child development, Women development and Livelihood promotion programs empowering vulnerable women, children and youth in North Wollo Zone, South Wollo Zone ,Awl Zone ,South Gojam –  Amhara Region, North Shoa Zone – Oromia Region,  Oromia Special Woreda(Sululta) and Argobba special Woreda(Gachene) – Afar Region.

Since 1998 PADet has been working in partnership with various International donors and INGOs, Regional Government structures, National CSOs and the communities.
Currently PADet would like to hire a competent and well experienced staff for the position of Finance and Administration Manager at Head office level.

Job Summary:

The job holder is responsible to guide, plan, manage and reviews implementation and effectiveness of all financial and administrative strategies, processes, systems and procedures of the organization that aid in meeting PADet overall organization objectives.

Accountabilities

  • Establish administrative, financial and material guidelines and ensure implementation when approved by the Board,
  • Ensure that personnel administration matters are handled as per the human resource development policy of PADet,
  • Involve in the preparation of the annual budget of the organization in consultation with other key staff members and administer it when approved by the organization,
  • Ensure that budget has been utilized as per action plan and procedure of PADet,
  • Ensure that all payments to and by the organization (and any other properties purchased or donated) are managed and/or effected in accordance with established procedures
  • Facilitate the accounts of the organization audited periodically and /or as per schedule of the agency for charities and society’s affair, external auditors, donor and the organization.
  • Liaise with government bodies on behalf of PADet related to administration and finance issues.
  • Serve as co-signatory of the organization with the Director and /or program delegated to run the accounts of PADet,
  • Ensure that all payments to and by the organization are effected in accordance with the guidelines
  • Provide technical support to zonal and project offices for proper handling of project accounts and efficient utilization of disbursements,
  • Submit financial statements to management and programs department monthly
  • Monitor budget performance of projects and report findings to the Executive director for his/her information, further planning purposes and to take actions in case of any irregularities,
  • Prepare financial reports and submit to concerned donors based on the project agreements,
  • Ensure that all project personnel are appraised annually and that recommendation sent to PADet on time,
  • Serve as a member of the management team of the organization,
  • Carry out other related activities as may by assigned by the director his /her delegate

Job Requirements

Qualification and skills Requirement:                             

  • Masters /BA degree in Accounting.
  • 10 years for BA or 4 years for Master’s degree holder and out of that at least three years’ experience in the actual position preferably in the NGO context
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft basic internet and Financial Accounting software like Peachtree and Power point;
  • Adequate knowledge on international public sector accounting standard (IPSAS)
  • Adequate knowledge on USAID,EU ,and other donors grant management & financial procedures
  • Proven report writing and communication skills
  • Good communications and interpersonal skills and good leadership quality,
