Currently, Tetra Tech Inc. is providing USAID-Ethiopia with Engineering Services and Construction Oversight (ESCO) on select projects countrywide. The ESCO project, now in its 2nd phase, provides engineering services and construction oversight for new health facilities, the national blood bank service (NBBS), water supply for health facilities, rural water supply and sanitation.

Tetra Tech Inc. is currently seeking expressions of interest for a Fleet Manager. The Fleet Manager will be responsible for the following activities:

Oversee maintenance and scheduled servicing of all project vehicles to ensure that the vehicles are road-worthy and safe with a minimum downtime for maintenance and servicing

  • Liaise with garage(s) and closely follow-up maintenance and scheduled service of vehicles
  • Monitor all project vehicles are clean, safe, and road-worthy through liaising with regional and Addis Ababa drivers
  • Monitor and keep track of all vehicle logs (including mileage) and identify any discrepancies on mileage between origin and destination of trips
  • Coordinate and monitor vehicle fueling using cash or coupons
  • Ensure that all project vehicles have insurance (including third-party insurance), registrations, and yearly technical inspections
  • Report any vehicle accidents and incidents including to the concerned government authorities and insurance companies on a timely manner
  • Drive project vehicles to transport staff within Addis Ababa and outside of Addis, as required
  • Reports to the Office Manager.

Job Requirements

Essential educational, experience, and competency requirements are:

Diploma in auto-mechanic, logistics, or other related fields

  • 3rd Grade (or equivalent) driving license
  • At least ten (10) years of relevant experience, preferably on USAID or donor-funded projects
  • Outstanding organizational skills are essential
  • Attention to details, analytical mindset, and good problem-solving skills are essential
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is essential
  • Proficiency in English language is essential
  • Good oral communication skills are essential.
