Plan International Ethiopia is looking for Grant and Finance Manager to be based at Country Office. 

The Role

Plan International Ethiopia is looking for a Grants and Finance Manager for a five-year project, “PlayMatters”, funded by the LEGO Foundation. This position will be a part of the larger PlayMatters initiative to increase play-based learning opportunities for nearly 1 million pre-primary and primary school aged refugee and host community children impacted by the humanitarian crises in East Africa and living in Ethiopia and Uganda. This project seeks to build children’s social, emotional, cognitive, physical and creative skills through play in their homes, schools, and communities and will be implemented in partnership with War Child, Plan International, Ubongo, Behavioural Insights Team and Innovations for Poverty Action.

The position holder will be responsible to support effective implementation of Grant based projects by managing the overall financial management and monitoring of the LEGO PlayMatters project through coordinating, standardizing, and consolidating budget, donor reporting, capacity building on donor compliance and Funding Agreement Document (FAD) administration.  In addition, the position holder maintains the Grants Information System and provides grants-related financial analysis.

Key relationships
Internal:
The job holder has a close working relationship internally with the following departments and/or functions:
• Business Development Unit: For budget preparation on a yearly basis, as well as revision on a quarterly basis.
• Ensure alignment of all financial and narrative reporting are, based on Donor, Plan, National, and other relevant standards and are in line with compliance requirements.
• CO Logistics Team
• CO & Program Area Finance Team
External:
The job holder has a close working relationship externally with the following departments and/or functions:
• Partners: Preparing budget, identifying capacity building needs on financial capacity and donor compliances for PA finance staff; facilitating training
• Donors & National Office: Budgeting, compliances requirements and negotiations where applicable, reporting

Job Requirements

Qualifications/ experience essential:

• Education at First Degree level or equivalent vocational study in fields such as Accounting and Finance

• At least 8 years of relevant experience as Grant Accountant / Grant Finance/Grant Manager

• Experience of International NGO grant management systems and financial regulations

• Knowledge of Grants Administration especially system management and donor compliance in reporting of diverse institutional donors (EU, USAID, ECHO, UNICEF, GFFO, DFID etc.)

Qualifications/ experience desirable:

• Demonstrated knowledge in cost recovery principles and systems, experience in implementing a cost recovery system is preferable.

• Experience in managing performance and facilitating development of staff is preferred.

Languages required

• Fluency in English language is essential

• Knowledge of Local Languages is a desirable
