DESA PLANTS PLC is a foreign investment company in the horticulture sector located in Ejersa, 9km from Modjo. Our main activities are production and export of high quality seedlings to the European and USA market.

JOB OVERVIEW

We are looking for a Head of HR to manage all HR issues in the company. HR Head Responsibilities include supervising officers; preparing payroll and other HR related tasks. To be successful in this role, you should have a good knowledge of local labor regulations and experience with Human Resources Management Software.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES 

  • Preparing payroll
  • Controlling all attendances of staffs and other workers
  • Coordinates and supervises the overall activities of the Human Resources Department and administrative department
  • Working on logistic department
  • Prepares sound administrative manuals and procedures; doing the recruitment, selection, placement promotion etc. of workers;
  • Ensures that labor laws and regulations are properly implemented.
  • Nurture a positive working environment.
  • Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance.
  • Report to Hr. manager and provide decision support through HR metrics.
  • Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONES AND COMPETENTENCIES

Qualification

  • BS  degree in Human Resource, Management and other related studies

Experience

  • More than 3 years of relevant work experience in the same position (working in horticulture sector is advantageous)

Competencies

  • People oriented and results driven
  • Knowledge of HR systems and databases
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills
  • knowledge of labor law and company policies
  • Excellent  written and spoken Afan Oromo, Amharic and  English languages are a must
  • Good computer skills are a must (Microsoft Office & Outlook)
