Position:   Individual Consultant/ SBCC and WASH Officer

Location:  Addis Ababa

Program:  Improving COVID-19 Prevention, Preparedness and Case Management for Vulnerable Populations in Ethiopia project

Time Frame:  3 months

 

Scope of work:

The Consultant will lead the effective implementation of SBCC and WASH activities under “Improving COVID-19 Prevention, Preparedness and Case Management for Vulnerable Populations in Ethiopia” project. He/she will work with regional health bureaus and stakeholders working on COVID-19 messaging and communication activities. He/she will work to adopt materials on COVID 19 messaging and communication to specific needs and context of the implementation sites. Oversee all WASH related behavioral intervention activities. Regularly monitor and provide site level technical assistance on SBCC and WASH activities implementation. Ensure the procurement and distribution of WASH- NFI supplies to target facilities and sub-population in collaboration with regional health bureaus and Project HOPE Ethiopia’s logistics coordinator. Assist the project manager on routine implementation of programmatic activities at regional level and centrally. Lead the preparation of communication materials and site level reports in collaboration with M&E unit and HQ communications department. Implement other tasks assigned by the Project Manager and Project HOPE leadership as needed.

Job Requirements

-       BSc/BA in social sciences, sociology, communications, environmental or public health is a requirement and having a master’s degree is desirable

-       A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in BCC and/or WASH

-       Experience on site level WASH and BCC activities

-       Experience of implementing WASH and BCC activities for highly vulnerable populations and IDP camps is desirable/plus

-       High interpersonal communication skill

-       Proficiency in MS and other computer applications
