KAKI PLC is an official dealer and assembler of ISUZU in Ethiopia. It is also engaged in different business lines including import, export, metal fabrication, after sales services, and cargo freight transport operations. The company wishes to employ a qualified professional for Insurance Division Head position:

General Duties and Responsibilities:

The Insurance Division Head plans, coordinates and supervises insurance activities of the company. Prepares insurance management procedures and updates the same as required; Ensures that policies, procedures and guidelines relating to insurance issues are well adhered to; Recommends type of insurance policy to be purchased bases to the company insurance history and high risk areas. Advises the management whether to retain risk or not, settle insurance claims, renews insurance agreements and initiates request of insurance premiums. Makes sure all insurance related documents are well organized and kept safe in soft and hard copies;

Job Responsibility # 1: Insurance Management

• Plans, organizes, directs, coordinates and supervises insurance activities of the company;
• Ensures that policies, procedures and guidelines relating to insurance issues are well adhered to;
• Prepares insurance management procedures and updates the same as required
• Recommends type of insurance policy to be purchased to transfer risks. Follows up purchase of insurance coverage; evaluates coverage purchased;
• Investigates insurance claims whether they are proper or not;
• Follows up settlement of insurance claims;
• Provides professional assistance in handling insurance claims;
• Follows up the process of reclaiming premiums;
• Follows up settlement of premium payments;
• Conducts survey of  current market prices of materials or properties;
• Follow up company property and employees safety to minimize certain risks;
• Coordinates health and safety programs;
• Maintains good working relationships with insurance companies;
• Ensures timely renewal of properties, employees GPA and illness insurance coverage;
• Studies and submits his/her recommendations about new insurance coverage;
• Conducts surveys about insurance markets and submits his/her recommendations  for relevant insurance coverage;
• Makes sure all insurance related documents are well organized and kept  safe in soft and hard copies;
• Ensures that appropriate copies of documents are timely sent to the relevant concerned parties including the General Manager, Deputy General Manager and Finance Department.

Job Responsibility # 2: Staff Management

• Assigns work to employees of the Division;
• Directs, guides  and coaches subordinates;
• Assists in the identification of the training needs of employees and proposes the same;
• Periodically appraises the performance of employees under supervision.

Job Responsibility # 3: Reporting

• Prepares and submits monthly, quarterly and annual performance reports of the Division to HR & Administration Manager;

Job Responsibility # 4: Others

• Performs other related duties assigned by the HR & Administration Department Manager.

Qualification        :  B.A Degree in Banking & Insurance, Management Public Administration or related fields of studies

Work Experience            :  6 Years for B.A. Degree relevant work experience out of which 2 years at supervisory level

Required Competence  :  Advanced skill in MS-Office and excellent communication skills
