Invitation to Bid for Urban Farming/gardening Consultancy Services
Farm Africa is an international NGO founded in 1985, with a vision to ensure a prosperous rural Africa. It is a specialist development NGO working with smallholder farmers and forest communities, local governments and the private sector in Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. The organization is an expert in the fields of agronomy, livestock, natural resources management and market engagement. With community engagement underpinning our approach, we design and implement sustainable solutions to rural poverty based on evidence and best practices.
Farm Africa currently wants to invite eligible bidders to conduct site clearing, site layout for compound beautification and urban agriculture, urban agriculture structure installation, drip irrigation system purchase and installation per the lay out, developing guides for specific urban agriculture practices (such as innovative gardening options for different crops), technical training, short term mentoring and maintenance services after UA structure installation (three months ), treat the soil with organic compost and make the site ready for planting, perform other activities mentioned in the ToR.
This call is intended to conduct the above mentioned and Improve Livelihood of Low-Income Urban Households in Addis Ababa’ with 15 months initiative (October 2021 to December 31, 2022) developed by Ministry of Planning and Development (MoPD) of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and Farm Africa to be implemented in MoPD compound.

Job Requirements
Qualification of Consultant
- Bidders shall submit all the legal documents (renewed Trade License, Registration, TIN, VAT certificates)
- Master’s degree in Agriculture, Horticulture or related field.
- Expertise in Urban Agriculture and urban agriculture designing
- Experience in community engagement and training
- Experience in delivering trainings to urban communities on farming techniques and farm business plans
- Excellent spoken and written English and Amharic
- Bidders shall clearly state their unit price and total including VAT in ETB

Interested bidders should submit their Technical and Financial proposals in two separate files duly marked as “Technical” and “Financial” proposals. The document must be delivered to the email ethprocurement@farmafrica.org on or before 25 Nov 2021, 11:00 AM. Late bids will be rejected.

Bid opening will be done by Farm Africa procurement committee. Qualified consultants will be considered based on their responsiveness to the requirements listed above, technical, and financial evaluation results. Finally, the winner will be notified through the firm’s address.
