The Carter Center is a not-for-profit international NGO committed to waging peace, fighting disease and building hope worldwide. The Carter Center country office in Ethiopia, which assists the Government of Ethiopia in Disease Elimination and Eradication Programs, is looking for a qualified professional to fill the M&E vacant post for its Guinea Worm Eradication Program:
Required Number: 1 (One)
Duty Station: Gambella Town
(with frequent field travels to Gog & Abobo districts of Gambella region)
Main Responsibilities:
· Actively participate in the development of annual plan of action and ensures implementation of the project activities as per the plan.
· Undertakes supportive supervision and monitor and evaluate implementation of all Guinea Worm Eradication Program activities.
· Works very closely with the Guinea Worm Eradication Program Manager and TCCE Regional Manager to ensure that they are implemented as per the plans of action and project agreements.
· In close consultation with Program Manager keeps proper documentation of project implementation and present key performance indicators during monthly monitoring meeting.
· Works very closely with Guinea Worm Eradication Program Manager and Regional Manager to conduct surveys, update progress status on surveillance works and facilitate operational researches.
· Develop/update the database from which he collects monthly from passive and active surveillance areas of the Guinea Worm Eradication Program.
· Performs statistical analysis of collected data in order for determining eligibility of the data.
· Coordinate baseline surveys, and impact assessments for program monitoring.
· Perform other duties as instructed by supervisors.
Job Requirements
Qualification: Minimum of MSc degree in Health Informatics, Statistics, Monitoring & Evaluation or related fields from a recognized university.
Experience: Relevant experience of minimum of seven years in health related data management.
Additional Requirements:
· Previous NGO experience is a plus
· Willingness to travel and work in remote areas
· Excellent computer skills: MS office (excel and data base), statistical packages and data management software(Epi Info, SPSS).
· Recommendation letter from the most recent employer
· Able to present release letter from current employer in two weeks after job offer
