The Armauer Hansen Research Institute (AHRI) was founded in 1970 through the initiative of the Norwegian and Swedish Save the Children organizations seconded by the Ministry of Health of Ethiopia. The Institute got its name from the Norwegian physician, Gerhard Henrik Armauer Hansen, who first described the leprosy bacillus (Mycobacterium leprae). AHRI is a biomedical research institute that works in developing tools for prevention, control and treatment of mycobacterium and other diseases of public healthy importance through applied and basic biomedical research and training.

Network Administrator III manages web environment design, deployment, and development and maintenance activities. Perform testing and quality assurance of web sites and web applications. Also monitor systems for intrusions or denial of service attacks, and report security breaches to IT Case Team Leader.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the website and all social media accounts of the Institute.
- Set up or maintain monitoring tools on web servers or web sites
- Upgrades AHRI website; improve its quality, accessibility, and installing enhancements to the day to day easy functionality.
- Back up or modify applications and related data to provide for disaster recovery.
- Be responsible for content of both internet and internet webpage.
- Document application and web site changes or change procedures.
- Develop or document style guidelines for web site content.
- Recommend web site improvements.
- Configure and maintain web analytics systems
- Establishes web system by planning and executing the selection, installation and configuration; testing of server hardware, software, and operating and system management systems and defining system and operational policies and procedures.
- Identify, standardize, and communicate levels of access and security.
- Implement updates, upgrades, and patches in a timely manner to limit loss of service.
- Follow up the website to make it rich with information; upload pertinent information timely
- Monitor systems for intrusions or denial of service attacks, and report security breaches to IT Team Leader.
- Accomplishes institutional goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Assist other teams as needed
· Perform any other tasks as may be assigned that is consistent with the nature of the job and its level of responsibility
Social Media
- Manages the Association social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn and other relevant platforms
- Engages in social media presence creation on new and emerging social media platforms
- Creates dynamic written, graphic, and video content under the supervision of the relevant personnel/department
- Analyses and reports audience information and success of existing social media activities/ posts
Job Requirements
Education:
- BSc in Computer Science or Information Technology and 4 years direct experience
System Administrator Skills:
- General Programming and Web Development Skills
- System Administration
- Technical Understanding and Management
- Infrastructure Experience
- Planning, Testing and tuning web applications
- Dependable
- Expertise with Linux is advantageous
