Reporting Relationships

§  The CSSD Nurse reports to the Assigned Nurse and/or to  Charge Nurse

§  The position works with a high degree of autonomy and responsibility for CSSD machine and different equipment’s.

MAIN DUTIES AND TASKS

Position Summary: To ensure standard instrument processing and to implement standard infection prevention control through sterilization and high level of disinfection and to take care of instruments and CSSD machine based on the standard.

Ensures:

§  Standard instrument processing.

§  The sterility of equipment’s

§  Standard Infection prevention and control.

§  Supplies and instruments are avail to provide care.

Does:

§  Handle all equipment’s with care and cleaning through the standard instrument processing.

§  Clean, disinfect and pack the medical instruments for sterilization based on the instrument processing of the department.

§  Receive all instruments from every department and process with care.

§  Cooperate and collaborate with other departments to provide quality patient care.

§  Keeping the facility’s stock of sterile devices up to date by regular inventory of stocks.

§  Identification of surgical instrumentation by proper name and appropriate sterilization method.

§  Maintains a high standard of cleanliness in the department.

§  Practice safe handling of patient care items that have been exposed to blood and/or body fluid.

§  Report immediately broken or malfunctioning equipment to charge nurse.

§  Perform and monitor the infection prevention practice of the department based on the protocol.

§  Maintains a safe and clean working environment in compliance with healthcare procedures and regulations.

§  Keep functionality and durability of materials needed for patient care.

§  Perform other duties as assigned.

§  Give oral and written report.

• Diploma in nursing from an approved nursing program.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) from the country of origin.
• 0 year experience (entry level)
• Knowledge in different medical equipment and instrument processing is preferable.
• Have some computer skills.
• Language: Fluent in English (oral & written).
