The nutrition specialist will be responsible for leading FRF emergency response project  at International Medical Corps’ field office, and integration of nutrition program with other sectors.  The following will be details of major duties ;

-Effective implementation of IMC’s Emergency Nutrition and cash based assistance  Projects within the frame work of pertinent national/area nutrition policy, strategy and guidelines.

-Lead the field-level implementation of activities using appropriate IMC program monitoring tools to plan, review and track progress and quality by the program team.

-Regularly monitor activities and work with local partners to resolve obstacles to timely, quality, and accountable implementation.

-Prepare detail work plan, procurement plan and budget spending plan at the beginning of the program for nutrition and health programs.

-Organize and facilitate zonal level trainings, workshops and other meetings and support the woreda staff for the woreda level training, workshop and meeting facilitation

-Ensure planned activities including trainings are executed as per the national guidelines and standards

-Ensure the malnutrition management and preventive activities such as SAM management support, the linkage of SAM management with MAM management, IYCF behavioral change activities including Care Group and are implemented as per the plan and based on the standards

-Work with the M&E team to manage the project Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) plan, with particular emphasis on accountability and transparency. Lead in-field learning events, debriefs, etc. and ensure documentation and sharing of lessons learned. Ensure prompt collection, analysis, and sharing of all project data.

-Conduct supportive supervision and provided on the job training on the gap identified. Facilitated monitoring visit with zonal and woreda officials and share the report for Addis Program team.

-Provide guidance to field team on the integration of nutrition component into other sectors (health, WASH, protection, etc…) as appropriate

-Lead the team to counter the risks of malnutrition by ensuring that food is distributed, or money transferred (cash or food vouchers)

-Actively represent International Medical Corps in program update for MANTF and ENCU meetings on time and as needed.

Job Requirements

Qualification

-Bachelor degree in Public health, Nursing, nutrition or related field of study with 5 years of experience in related field

-Master's degree in Nutrition, Nursing or Public health from recognized learning institution plus 3 years of experience in related field

Experience and Knowledge Required

-Experience on managing emergency Health and Nutrition intervention, particularly CMAM, IYCF projects

- Experience of facilitation of training review meetings and workshops.

-Experience on budget and human resource management and Excellent computer skills, including all Microsoft applications

-Ability to work independently and under tight deadlines and develop good team spirit and support staff.

-Training on CMAM, IYCF. Ensure that IMC's food security program and approach is in line with policies and strategies of the Government of Ethiopia's as well

-Knowledge of the local language of the respective areas would be an added value Must have excellent English written and oral communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments within International Medical Corps, donors, non-governmental organizations, and the private sector.
