Introduction

The Ohio State Global One Health, LLC (GOHi) is a recognized non-governmental entity affiliated with the Ohio State University. GOHi works as a university-wide research and training capacity building unit that focuses on issues at the human health, animal health and the interface with the environment including infectious and chemical hazards, both acute such as infectious and chronic such as cancer. GOHi works with different national and international academic, research, and regulatory institutes to develop an effective, systems-based and sustainable One Health approach for early detection, prevention, and control of emerging and endemic zoonotic and multi-drug resistance (MDR) infections. GOHi has its Eastern Africa regional office in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia with strategic activities in other locations including other sub-Saharan African countries, mainly Kenya and Tanzania.

Job Description

GOHi LLC is looking for an Office Assistant who will be responsible for providing basic housekeeping and cleaning. She/he will be also provides some administrative assistance in areas such as filing, photocopying, and stock monitoring.

In order for you to be selected as a candidate, you will need the ability to write clearly and be proficient with Microsoft windows processing applications. A strong communication skill is highly valued.

Janitor service

  • Clean all offices, entrances and rooms on a daily basis
  • Dusting of furniture and as well as cleaning of windows and doors
  • Emptying of rubbish bins daily
  • Replenishment of cleaning materials and equipment when the need arise

Office support

  • Answer phones and transfer to the appropriate staff member
  • Take and distribute accurate messages
  • Print, fax, scan and copy documents as required
  • Assist in event  and meeting managements
  • Assist in maintaining supply inventory
  • Aid client reception as needed.
  • Helping in organizing and maintaining office common areas.
  • Assist in procurement and asset management
  • Provide cover for colleagues as necessary and undertake other activities commensurate with the level of responsibility of the post as and when requested

Job Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma and two years of relevant experience
  • Working knowledge of office devices and processes,
  • Good written and verbal communication skills,
  • Basic computer skill,
  • Sensitivity to cultural differences and able to interact with people at all levels of the organization,
  • Able to work with others in a consultative way,
  • Ability to withstand and resolve conflict,
  • Able to anticipate and adapt to change,
  • Strong attention to detail,
  • Self-motivated
