MSH seeks to recruit highly-motivated and result-oriented individuals for the Eliminate Tuberculosis in Ethiopia (ETBE) Project, a five-year USAID-funded project with the goal of reducing TB incidence and mortality by improving the quality, access, utilization, and sustainability of TB services. The project builds on the work of previous USAID activities (Challenge TB, HEAL TB, TB Care, and others) that have been supporting the National Tuberculosis and Leprosy Program (NTLP) to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDG) and STOP TB milestones. ETBE’s support focuses on improving access and utilization to quality and patient-centered comprehensive TB services.

Mission, values, policies and standard operating procedures, and local laws and donor regulations to safeguard MSH’s reputation – financial and contractual integrity.

S/he will be responsible for procurement of goods and services and will be in charge of collecting proforma invoices on approved purchase requisitions, preparing offer analysis and makes recommendations and follow up to assure delivery. In addition, s/he will maintain procurement data including supplier list and standards of goods and services, and ensure the effectiveness of procurement in timely and cost effective manner.

Key result areas include;

  • Facilitating the preparation of procurement plan
  • Executing all purchases for goods and applicable services for ETBE and any other MSH projects in Kenya in compliance with MSH procurement policies and procedures. S/he sources vendors, negotiates contracts, ensures prompt delivery and liaises with the accounting office to ensure that vendors are paid in a timely manner.
  • Participating in evaluation, negotiation and selection of providers for goods and services according to SoPs
  • Ensuring that purchases are made in the best interests of the donor and MSH
  • Receiving goods/deliverables, verify quality and quantity against the Orders alongside technical representatives
  • Receiving invoices, reviewing accuracy and satisfactory delivery approvals. Verifying tax certificates from vendors before payments are made
  • Preparing weekly procurement status report and submits to the supervisor

Job Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • The ideal candidate should have a minimum of Bachelor’s degree in business administration, logistics or Supply chain/Procurement. Master’s degree in a relevant discipline is an advantage.  S/he should have at least three (3) years’ experience in in purchasing and supply management experience within a large organization.
  • S/he should have experience in working with USAID funded projects. Understanding of key aspects of procurement, accounting, creating and analyzing journal entries with ability to use basic accounting software i.e. Quick books Online Procurement module will be an added advantage.
  • In addition, the candidate should have advanced spreadsheet skills required.  Familiarity with accounting or business information systems software strongly preferred.  Database skills desired. (Microsoft Office applications preferred).
  •  The successful candidate needs to be a strong team player, have strong administrative and organizational skills, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. S/he should be logical and have flexible approach to solving problems, especially when working under pressure.  S/he should work with minimal supervision with ability to work independently
