Company profile: Ahadukes Food Product S.C. is a manufacturing company primarily engaged in food products, Biscuits and Pasta in Bishoftu town of Oromia state. It is a joint investment between Ahadu P.L.C & UK based Vasari investment Group. We hence, invite qualified applicants for the following vacant position.

Role purpose General:

To plan, coordinate, and control the overall manufacturing process including quality control/ assurance and all plant and equipment maintenance.

Duties & Responsibilities: 

• Develops periodic production plans (annual, quarterly, monthly, weekly, and shift) through master production schedules and ensures the implementation of the same
• Ensure the preparation of inputs plan such as Materials Requirement Planning on a timely basis
• Sets production and performance targets in consultation with the COO and based on the overall operational and strategic plan of Ahadukes.
• Ensures that the necessary man-power, equipment, and facilities are organized for production and maintenance operations.
• Monitors operation expenses and make every effort  to reduce costs while maintaining product quality
• Develops performance indicators (using guidelines stated in the Production Management Manual)for all production, maintenance, and quality control activities  and monitor performance accordingly
• Closely works with the quality QC/QA team in setting the quality standards of products and monitor production process and products accordingly
• Closely works with Maintenance Manager and Shift Production Supervisors to develop routine and preventive maintenance plans for plant machinery and equipment; ensure timely routine and preventative maintenance of all machineries and equipment to minimize downtime.
• Closely works with Marketing and Sales Team to develop/design different products (hard biscuits, soft biscuits etc.)
• Works closely with the Procurement and Supply Chain Managers/teams to ensure that  adequate raw materials, spare parts and other  inputs are available to maintain continuous and optimum level of production at the same time minimizing cost of inventory maintained
• Studies equipment developments and improved manufacturing techniques; implement upon approval by top management.
• Establishes critical control points to ensure product safety and quality; ensure inspections and tests are made accordingly and records are maintained for follow-up.
• In collaboration with Quality Control Manager, ensures that appropriate levels of materials and product safety, factory hygiene, and people safety are maintained
• Ensures equipment and machinery are operated and maintained in accordance with the required standards.
• Coordinates with HRD in hiring and training reporting staff.
• Periodically conducts performance review of reporting staff to identify performance gaps or outstanding performance and take appropriate action; ensure periodic performance for the entire factory staff.
• Coordinates with HRD in developing and designing appropriate training program to enhance staff skills in the production area.
• Encourage and promote operating in a continuous improvement environment.
• Ensure site compliance to all labor, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Strong computer skills including the ability to prepare spreadsheets and use Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point and/or Access) to analyze data and trends.

Qualification:

• MSC /Second degree in Food Engineering/ Industrial Engineering/ Process Engineering/ Food Technology/ Food Science/ Manufacturing Technology/ Applied Chemistry/ Industrial Chemistry or other relevant field of study

Experience:

• At least 8 years progressive experience in a key leadership/management role at a manufacturing It is preferable to have experience in manufacturing company preferably in Food & Beverage Company.
• Have a strong back ground in production planning & scheduling.
• Previous experience/broad understanding of safety systems and enforcement of safety rules and policies.
