iO associates have partnered with a fast-growing defence company based in Bristol, who specialise in UAV and UAS systems, and are leading the way with technology that facilitates the output of the military, security companies, and first responders.
You will be entering the business as their first Purchasing & Supply Chain expert. After rapid expansion of the company, they are in need of an experienced Purchasing & Supply Chain Manager that will drastically improve current, and build new supply. You will therefore be building the function of supply chains (people, processes and technology) and executing day-to-day activities, including supplier due-diligence, sourcing, purchasing, planning and logistics. You will be responsible for both subcontractor and procurement processes. You will become part of a team of passionate, hard-working and friendly people, who are experts in their fields.

This Role Will Involve

• Working with product and project teams to understand their needs and support forecasting of requirements
• Designing appropriate supply chains to meet requirements, build diversity, agility and resilience
• Assess suppliers, negotiate pricing and terms, and manage performance
• Create supply chain plans for long term projects
• Understand, document and mitigate supply chain risks

Skills Required

• A forward-thinking and hands-on approach to supply chain management
• Experience in supply chain management (ideally in a regulated industry)
• Experience of dealing with export-controlled goods (ITAR, EAR, etc.)
• Ability to monitor and control budgets
• Technical knowledge relevant to the role (e.g. manufacturing engineering, CIPS qualifications)
