Background

EASTRIP is a regional project in three East African countries including Ethiopia, Kenya and Tanzania. The project aims to increase access, improve quality of technical and vocational education and facilitate regional integration. One of the objectives and results of the project will be achieved through strengthening 16 selected Regional TVET flagship institutes out of which 7 are found in Ethiopia; and General Wingate Polytechnic College is one of the institutes.

Job Purpose

General Wingate Polytechnic College (GWPTC) is seeking to recruit an experienced and competent secretary/cashier for its EASTRIP Project Implementation Unit.

The Secretary /Cashier holds a key position to ensure effective and efficient office management and custody of petty cash to be in charge with roles and responsibilities in the day–to-day activities

 Major duties and responsibilities: 

The Project Secretary/Cashier will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the office of the EASTRIP project Implementation Unit and cash handling of the Project She/he will be particularly responsible for office management, holding petty cash and ensure up –to –date filling and record keeping

JOB REQUIREMENT

  • Diploma or degree in Secretarial Science and office management from a recognized college/university
  • Six-years proven experience for Diploma holders and four years relevant experience for degree holders,
  • Experience in working with MS Office and other job-related software
  • Work experience at donor funded project office in similar position is advantageous

Duty Station: General Wingate Polytechnic College, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Probation Period: 3 months

Duration፤ The length of this position is initially for one year and subject to the satisfactory Performance the contract period shall be extendable.
