Green Innovation Centres (GIC)

 

The Green Innovation Centres (GIC) supports the Ethiopian government with the development of the agricultural sector to improve the food supply chain, foster income generation opportunities and target employment creation. The focal area of the project is to support and improve the wheat, faba bean and honey value chains through the promotion of modern agricultural technologies, tailored trainings in Good Agriculture Practices (GAP), high quality seeds and agricultural inputs as well as agro-processing and marketing. The GIC implements its activities in the so called Ethiopian Wheat Belt in Oromia and West Gojam and South Wollo in Amhara.

Responsibilities

Administrative Tasks

  • Small procurement.
  • Prepare service request documents
  • Annual inspection of project cars, Logbook follow up and send the report to Addis Ababa office.
  • Following up regular service for project cars collaborating with the responsible driver
  • Taking minutes of meeting if it is needed.
  • Preparing official letters
  • Photocopies and scan documents as needed
  • Filing of documents according to GIZ Rules & Regulation
  • Flight booking
  • Event organizing

Financial Tasks

  • Following up inventory for the office
  • Handle petty cash accounts and make all cash payments for both projects
  • Report any surplus or shortage in cash
  • Make timely cash replenishment request when cash account reaches to the minimum balance
  • Correspond with regional offices for timely submission of financial documents.
  • Ensure timely payment of utility bills & checking the correctness
  • Verify correctness of vouchers including supporting documents
  • Sending the finance document within the given time schedule to Addis Ababa office
  • Facilitating of settlement of travel.
  • Taking a corrective action according to the IC report recommendation
  • Perform other duties and tasks at the request of the supervisor

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • University degree (BA) in Accounting, Business Management or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years professional experience in related field
  • Good knowledge of standard computer application such as MS Office application.
