Description

VisionFund Micro Finance Institution (S.C) is an Institution established according to proclamation No. 40/96 to provide financial services to the productive poor in the rural and urban areas of Ethiopia. VisionFund is currently operating in four of the Regional States of the country.

VisionFund MFI is currently looking for candidates for the position of Senior HR Officer. The successful candidates will have skills and experience that meet the following requirements:

Major Responsibilities:

§  Prepares vacancy announcements;

§  Conducts registration of applicants;

§  Participates in the process of internal and external recruitment;

§  Facilitates pre-employment activities;

§  Issue ID to the new employee and replacement for lost/damaged ones

§  Handles Employee transfer, career path and branch re-grading requests;

§  Handles correspondences with employees and process Manager;

§  Requests and reminds employees to fulfill employment formalities as required (i.e. guarantor, contract agreement etc.);

§  Handles requests for payment of salary and various employees’ benefits;

§  Handles staff contract termination and clearance related activities;

§  Updates employee information in hard copy / on data base;

§  Follows-up, collect, check and communicate with other processes &update employee periodic performance evaluation points on the data base;

§  Processes employee insurance benefit schemes timely;

§  Processes the authorization of payment of various employee allowances and benefits;

§  Participates in the HR policy revision and/or development;

§  Controls the employees time attendance sheet;

§  Supports and advises team members and involve in the day- to- day activities of the team;

§  Coordinates the personnel & staff relation activities;

§  Coordinates the implementation of personnel policies and strategies and the labor law; resolves procedural problems arising from their application;

§  Handles employee grievance and complaints & discipline cases in line with the HRM policies and the labor law.

§  Maintains up-to-date and reliable human resources statistical information;

§  Ensures that personnel records are periodically updated; controls and keeps personnel files and records;

§  Administers employee benefit programs such as insurance, leave and medical service retention contracts are timely renewed;

§  Prepares and submits updated VF MFI staff list as well as prepares report on staff promotion, transfer and resignation/ termination on monthly bases

§  Involve in the preparation of staff retirement and staff welfare programs

Job Requirements

Qualification, Skill and Experience:

§  MA/BA Degree in Human Resource Management, Management, Business Management or related fields.

§  A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, out of which 2 years in senior position.

§  Integrated knowledge and understanding of human resources concepts, practices, systems, and procedures;

§  Ability to interact and deal with people;

§  Excellent planning, organizational, analytical and decision-making skills;

§  Firm belief in teamwork and gender equality;

§  Basic computer skills;

§  Excellent written and oral communication skills.
