Description

Ensure all Concern’s vehicles and generator are serviced/ repaired to the highest standards as per Concern and Manufactures maintenance standard/guideline. In addition to this, responsible for maintaining of HO and residence house electric problems as well as when the needs raised travel to the field offices and seat-up the electric system.  E.g. new project offices

The position will contribute and support the successful implementation of Concern Ethiopia programs through provision of effective and efficient Maintenance service.

Typical Responsibilities

·       Service and repair Concern vehicles and Generators in accordance with Concern and manufacturer’s maintenance regulations/standards

·       Check regularly for proper function of HO and residence house electric system and ensure the system is not exposed for electric risk.

·       Provide technical support/advise for field offices technical team.

·       Inspect all incoming vehicles prior to any maintenance or /and repair, before and after long trip drive.

·       Ensure that all works are properly undertaken and completed in accordance to Concern standard time scale.

·       Advise and support the workshop manager when planning for fast moving spare parts procurement

·       Maintain health and safety regulations in the working place and ensure all healthy and safety facilities/sign are in placed in all time e.g. Fire extinguisher, first aid kits, safety signs, wing and seat cover and safety stands.

·       Prepare daily and weekly work plan and do specific tasks throughout the working day

·       Ensure all workshops records like; job cards, vehicle maintenance order and requisition note are properly completed.

·       Responsible for closing completed work job cards and submit to the transport officer timely

·       Keep the workshop, office, and working area clean at all times and be responsible for the safety of the equipment’s.

·       Responsible for good workshop’s inventory management-  tools and machineries

·       Maintain good workshop record system e.g. vehicles maintenance file and tools & equipment inventories.

·       Maintain up to date inventory of all Workshop tools and equipments and report to the immediate supervisor for any damage, missing and discrepancy.

·       Drive Light vehicles whenever necessary (i.e. to replace drivers when they are on leave, etc.)

·       Conduct random check of all HO vehicles service reminder and inform to the immediate supervisor if the service time is reached

·       Report or submit all orders of tools & machineries, which are necessary for workshop use to your immediate supervisor.

·       Report major problems to your immediate supervisor

·       Confirm and check quality of maintenance work done at private garage before any payment being effective.

·       Prepare all vehicles maintenance schedule with consultation of your line Manager.

·       Provide and share technical skills to the drivers as much as possible.

·       Give technical support/advise field office mechanics

·        Ensure that generators are in working condition and are serviced on a regular   basis.

·       Keep time records of generators in order to know when the next service for generators.

·       Develop periodical service plan/schedule tracking sheet for Head office vehicles and make sure service-tracking sheet are updated regularly.

Perform other duties assigned by your immediate supervisor.

Person Specification:

  • Level 4 certification or  College Diploma in automotive technology or mechanical engineering
  • Minimum 7 years experience with vehicles maintenance at senior lever
  • Ability to multi-task like auto electric and engine diagnose works
  • 3rd grade driving licence
  • Excellent knowledge of basic computer application
  • Good communication and reporting skill
