Description

You will conduct and report on the full range of CRS PDP commodity management monitoring activities. Ensuring that PDP commodity management is in conformity with donor (USAID/FFP) and CRS rules and regulations. Debrief with PDP management and Logistics Department on best practices and areas for improvement. Report to management on overall PDP performance, record management, general conditions of warehouses and or other facilities, commodities transfer, agreements, and related compliance issues pertinent to US Government commodities and CRS commodity management requirements. You will develop and maintain good working relationship with the JEOP CRMCU, PDP teams, CRS Logistics Department and CRS Compliance team.

You will provide technical expertise and capacity support; advising, training, coaching, and mentoring Catholic Relief Services (CRS) Ethiopia’s local partners under the JEOP in line with CRS program quality principles and standards, USAID/FFP guidelines, and industry best practice to advance the delivery of high-quality programming to the poor and vulnerable. Working closely with technical experts your skills and knowledge will contribute to determining how effective, adaptive and innovative CRS’ Ethiopia programming is across the globe.

JOB REQUIREMENT

Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree in education, organizational development, business administration, project management, development studies, non-formal education, psychology or public administration and related fields is desirable; although a first degree with relevant work experience will be considered.

  • Experience with partnership activities and institutional strengthening, preferably within non-governmental agencies;
  • Strong awareness of and the need for coordination with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Experience with capacity building, including training and mentoring as well as developing training materials;
  • Knowledge of project design and proposal development and USAID regulations and other major donors;
  • General knowledge of technical principles and concepts in food security and commodity management;
  • Knowledge of USAID regulations relating to food commodity management, fraud allegation management, compliance and related subjects as applicable;
  • Understand contractual obligations, e.g., for review and negotiating contracts with transporters, surveyors, clearing and forwarding agents, warehousing contracts.
  • Proficiency in MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and knowledge-sharing networks.
  • Familiarity with the Sphere Humanitarian Charter and Minimum Standards, the NGO Code of Conduct, Do No Harm, beneficiary protection issues and sexual exploitation and abuse.
