Project: “Technical Assistance to Support EU – Coffee Action for Ethiopia”, EuropeAid/139699/IH/SER/ET
Project implementation period: 42 months (start date 3rd of March 2020)
Position: Monitoring and Evaluation (M & E) Specialist
Duration of the assignment: 63 working days, expected start mid-September 2020
Duty station: Ethiopia; Addis Ababa with some travels to project regions, Woredas and sites
Scope of work: Under the direct supervision of the TA, Team Leader, the M&E Specialist is responsible for ensuring the highest efficiency in project management and the provision of accurate, thoroughly researched and documented information related to coffee development projects, monitoring and evaluation.
Qualifications and skills:
- At least bachelor’s degree, preferably postgraduate degree (MBA, MSc/MA, or equivalent) from accredited university in Economics, Ago-economics, or Development economics, and certificate in Project Management
- Excellent team-work, administrative, reporting, and communication skills
- Fluent in English (writing, speaking, understanding)
- Motivated, focused, hardworking, and eager to learn
- Thorough understanding of project procurement operations and processes
General Professional experience
- A minimum of 8 years progressive hands-on professional experience of project planning, monitoring and evaluation in agricultural value chain preferable in a ACP country/countries
- A natural leader with demonstrated experience and proven track record of working in multicultural and multi-disciplinary team skills
- Hight emotional quality & outstanding ability to work in a team and independently, flexibly and responsively
- Robust analytical and quantitative communication, presentation, and writing skills
- Strong ability to adapt to changing working conditions, prioritize, and meet deadlines
Specific professional experience
- Thorough knowledge of agricultural (coffee) value chain and farming systems
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in statistical data analysis, EU project management cycle, policies, and procedures
- Strong computer literacy, including MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Ability to adapt to changing working environments, prioritize, and meet deadlines
- Experience working at an international consulting firm preferred
