Description

The student guidance and counseling Officer shall be accountable to the college Academic Head and under the supervision of the Academic Head the duties and responsibilities of the guidance and Councilor are as follows:

  • Understand generally acceptable norm in the college, and Ledeg in particular.
  • Review and suggest necessary amendment of the college legislation and student handbook in relation with students’ unacceptable behavior and measures to be taken.
  • Approach students during off-class hours and encourage communication with students from different background.
  • Communicate related messages to students (in classroom) for two hours in semester
  • Counsel students personally and/or in group based on student’s request.
  • Counsel students personally or in groups based on instructors/admin staffs request.
  • Regularly counsel student’s low academic performance.
  • Report to the responsible body depending on the nature of the challenge.
  • Any other task requested by the college.

Job Requirements

Required Educational level/Specialization

  • BA Degree in Psychology

Years of Experience

  • 2 Years related experience as a student councilor in higher education/college

Mode of employment

  • 2  Part time (Two days per week) 8:00 -11:30 Local time
