Accountabilities / Responsibilities

In its early years, SCA was focused primarily on ASC operations, working in joint venture arrangements with physicians to develop and grow surgery centers. With time, the company's strong results in both quality outcomes as well as business performance have allowed SCA to reposition itself in its markets, most often becoming a significant part of the local integrated care delivery spectrum. No longer does SCA "occupy" the outpatient surgical care segment, rather their vision toward strategic partnership and value-add service delivery has enabled SCA to rapidly develop a portfolio of relationships with ~45 leading health systems, including Advocate/ Northshore, Sutter Health, Catholic Health Initiatives, Indiana University Health, Geisinger Health System, MemorialCare Health System, Saint Alphonsus Health System, UCSD, Providence, and Texas Health Resources. Over the last 5 years, SCA acquired more than 100+ facilities. The successful combination with Optum broadens the abilities of the companies to improve patient experience, quality, and cost of care.

Position Responsibilities:

Key to their vision for the future, SCA seeks a dynamic, relational leader to join the organization as a Group Vice President to drive growth and excellence in delivery of care in one of OptumCare's most strategically important geographies. This highly collaborative and consultative leader will have full P&L responsibility across multiple markets, currently defined as Los Angeles, Orange County, and the Inland Empire, which together include 15 centers and $180M in revenue. As part of OptumCare, this role will partner with multiple Clinical Delivery Organizations to build and execute a plan to comprehensively transform the surgical care delivery in these communities. The Group VP will innovate, benchmark, pilot and scale new services and initiatives that will drive the Quadruple Aim and further differentiate SCA and OptumCare as best-in-class provider organizations.
