 The Project

The WASHTRA project aims to reduce the prevalence of Trachomatous inflammation – follicular (TF) to <5 % through sustained change in facial cleanliness and handwashing practices of the community; use of improved sanitation and integration/mainstreaming of trachoma and WASH interventions in 6 woredas in 5 zones of the Oromia region. WASHTRA project is funded by the Fred Hollows Foundation (FHF).

SNV is seeking experienced and professional applicants for SBCC Advisor position for the WASHTRA Project under implementation in Oromia region based in Addis Ababa .

Job Description

The SBCC Advisor will oversee the behavior change /demand creation for improved sanitation activities at community level through the Health Extension Workers (HEWs), schools, WASHCOs and other structures to increase demand for low-cost, quality WASH products and services, with a focus on sanitation to eliminate Trachoma including the WASH NTD integration and increased collaboration across sectors such as water, education, health, finance, and non- governmental partners.

Job Requirements

Education:

Have at least Master’s degree in Behavioural Science, Social Behavioural Change Communication (SBCC), Sociology, and other related Social sciences fields

Experience:

Have at least ten years and above experience on experience in Social Behaviour Change Communication project implementation, monitoring and evaluation and SBCC in WASH and health sector.

·  Excellent facilitation and communication skills.

·  Proven experience in undertaking activities aimed SBCC and Capacity Building of government staff

and institutions.

·  Demonstrated organizational skills and a strong track record in meeting deliverables and donor deadlines.

·  Strong data analysis and reporting skills.
